Privacy Policy

This page explains what Crossword Clued collects, what it does not, and what changes if advertising is introduced. It is written to be read rather than to be skimmed past.

What we collect today

Nothing. Crossword Clued sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and asks for no personal information. There is no account to create, no newsletter to join, and no form to fill in. Puzzle progress you make on a playable board stays in your own browser and is never sent to us.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time — as almost every web server does. Those logs exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you and we do not sell or share them.

Advertising

The site reserves space for advertising, and we intend to run ads. No advertising script is loaded at the time of writing, so no advertising cookies are set.

When advertising is switched on, third-party vendors — including Google — may set cookies or read existing ones in order to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, and out of many other vendors at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. This page will be updated to name the vendors in use on the day any tag goes live.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU or California you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Because we do not collect personal data, the honest answer to the first question is almost always “none” — but ask us anyway if you want that confirmed in writing.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will be described here rather than quietly folded in.
